Guttled!

Current Netflix rental:
Walk the Line

Also, current Guardian Angell rental (Thanks, Johnny):
Kung Fu Hustle (edited version)

So, the Guardian Angell place rents "cleaned up" movies. I don't really have the attention span to watch movies lately. I prefer the instant gratification of the thirty-minute sitcom (with a laugh track, so that I know when to laugh).

Verb: guttle /gĂștl/
Eat greedily- devour, raven, pig
Derived forms: guttled, guttles, guttling
Type of:
eat

Today's words of the day for Pauline and Kimberly were: guttle and ereption and some other words I can't remember. Those are some high-brow words we picked up from The Superior Person's Book of Words. Guttle is a great one for me, considering what I did last night. I had dinner with my sisters and three friends. My good friends Carmen and Emily came over, bearing food, and we had an early Thanksgiving. It felt like Thanksgiving--a great holiday--with good company and good food. Emily had a gift card for the Glazed Honey Ham, Co. of the great Lubbock, Texas. She was generous enough to share her bounty with us for multiple meals. Sunday dinner was ham, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, &c. Last night for our May Thanksgiving we had turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, plus the leftovers from Sunday night. It was really yummy. Then for dessert we ate Tres Leches cake and had root beer floats with both vanilla and chocolate ice cream. For those of you who have not yet tried a root beer float with chocolate ice cream, you don't know what you're missing!

After dinner, we all had the "fat happies," as Emily said. The next morning I really did have that post-holiday food hangover that I get after Christmas and Thanksgiving. Maybe this only happens to me, but even my fingers feel swollen after that much caloric goodness. Also, unfortunately, there wasn't any yummy-looking food in the house tonight, so I again made friends with the Tres Leches cake. Thanksgiving may be my new favorite holiday. One just eats and spends quality time with friends and family and ponders on all the cool stuff in her life. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
